With 50 years of existence, the school has seen earth shattering development. Started in a small campus, it has developed to three school wings, and has large play grounds of its own. “Perseverance is success” is a phrase as well as has turned into a way of life for the whole Carmanian family since third March 1960. On this earth shattering day, “The Valley School” started in a small room in the rich green valley of Dehradun by a visionary Mr. A.G. Carbery. A year later, with the marriage of his daughter Jennifer Carbery to Ivan Mann, the school was renamed as Carman School. The name was given after taking the initial three letters of each surname, for example Car from Carbery and Man from Mann.

These two great educationists fabricated two surely understood schools over a time of forty years and have also been in charge of the spread of education in the Doon Valley by giving and growing new educational organizations. Adjacent to growing new educational establishments, they also contributed from various perspectives to the educational fraternity.
